For my short film Arvin AI, I created a film festival poster that represents the themes of the film while also following the conventions of typical film festival posters.

The poster mainly focuses on the two central characters, Anaya and Arvin. I decided to visually present Arvin as a holographic AI figure fading into light particles. This reflects the moment in the film when Anaya and Arvin meet for the first time. Anaya is shown wearing her AR glasses, which symbolise her dependency on technology and how she experiences the world through the presence of Arvin.

I used a dark colour palette with blue tones to create a futuristic and slightly melancholic atmosphere. Blue is often associated with technology and artificial intelligence, which helps reinforce the sci-fi genre of the film. The lighting also emphasises the glow of the AR glasses and the holographic effect of Arvin to make the technological element clear to the audience.

In addition, I included typical film festival poster conventions such as festival laurels, a tagline, the film title in large typography, and a credit block at the bottom. These elements help make the poster look professional and realistic, similar to posters used in real film festivals.

Overall, the aim of this poster was to visually communicate the central idea of the film, the emotional dependency between a human and an AI companion, while also following the design conventions of film festival promotional materials.
